Scogliera Pizzuta
Situated next to the famous town of Tropea, Parghelia sits on one of the most wonderful seacoasts of Calabria, which includes golden sandy beaches, and small bays with beautiful rocks and sands.
One of the most picturesque landmarks is that of “La Pizzuta” where stands a rock formation called “Lo scoglio del palombaro”.

With its beautiful palaces and gardens, Parghelia benefits from tropical plants and flowers throughout the year.
In the town you can find small, local shops for all your needs, a post office, newsagents and bars where you can relax with an espresso first thing in the morning, and enjoy locally made ice cream or a beer throughout the day through to the small hours of the night.

Parghelia was re-constructed after a massive earthquake that destroyed most of the village, seeing its completion in 1926.

Natural places of interest include:
‘La Pizzuta’ with the amazing “Lo scoglio del palombaro”.
The surrounding hills of “Florio Felosi” with their impressive natural beauty and many wild flowers. From the hills it is possible to fully appreciate the picturesque coastline with turquoise seas and passing boats and ships – a site hard to describe unless you see it with the naked eye.

The church of “Santa Maria de Porto Salvo” is one of the many buildings that complement the town. The church’s interior offers several fresco’s, some representing the painting schools of Napolitana and Salimene.
